We keep a small number of chickens (less than 20) as a hobby. They provide eggs, tick control and a beautiful, entertaining addition to the back yard landscape.
We have chicks every year, some raised by the hens and some in the house. Some purebreds and some crosses of the above breeds. When breeding and keeping chickens as pets I prefer temperament first. I dont keep any agressive roosters or flighty hens. I also enjoy a variety of colors in the yard. Chickens can be fairly tame amusing pets with a surprising ammount of personality and social behavior.
If you are interested in chicks or adult birds please contact us.
Chicks and adults are sometimes available.
In 2011 we have added Spangled Sussex and Easter Eggers to the breeds I keep.
